A traditional bathtub does not always match the way a bathroom is used today. Marathon Bath Systems offers tub to shower conversion services in Commerce Township, MI for homeowners who want a cleaner, easier-to-enter bathing setup without changing the entire room. Our team studies the existing tub area, checks plumbing and drainage locations, reviews the surrounding surfaces, and measures the available space before planning the replacement. The new shower is then designed to fit the bathroom naturally while improving movement, comfort, and day-to-day usability.
A bathtub may occupy a large part of the bathroom even when it is rarely used. For Commerce Township homeowners, converting that area into a walk-in shower can create easier entry, simplify cleaning, and make better use of the existing footprint. Our tub conversion services begin with measurements and a close inspection of the current bathing area.
We look at drain placement, plumbing access, surrounding wall surfaces, and the amount of room available for the shower base and entry. Once those details are confirmed, Marathon Bath Systems can recommend a practical conversion layout with the right wall system, fixtures, storage options, and accessibility features for the space.
Replacing a bathtub is not simply a matter of removing one fixture and placing another in its spot. The area behind and beneath the tub must be inspected before the new shower components are installed. During Commerce Township projects, our team checks the exposed surfaces after tub removal and identifies conditions that could affect installation.
The area is then prepared for the shower base, wall system, plumbing connections, fixtures, and finishing work. This step-by-step approach helps keep the project organized while giving homeowners a clear understanding of how the old tub space becomes a functional walk-in shower.
The existing tub is removed with attention to surrounding walls, flooring, and plumbing. Once the area is exposed, we can evaluate whether additional preparation is needed.
Whenever the bathroom allows, the new shower is configured around the space previously occupied by the bathtub. This can help keep the conversion focused and reduce unnecessary changes elsewhere.
Controls, showerheads, handheld fixtures, and storage features are considered as part of the overall layout. Their placement can affect both accessibility and everyday comfort.
Low-entry shower bases, grab bars, seating, and handheld fixtures can be incorporated when appropriate. These features can make the bathing area easier to use without making the bathroom feel overly clinical.
The right bathtub removal service in Novi, MI should lead to more than an empty space. The new shower needs to work with the room’s dimensions, plumbing, entry clearance, and the homeowner’s daily routine.
Marathon Bath Systems considers these details before recommending the finished configuration. Instead of adding unnecessary features, we focus on creating a shower area that is comfortable to enter, practical to maintain, and suited to the existing bathroom.

From start to end, all of the workers did an outstanding job. The job entailed removing everything down to the studs in our upper level bathroom, due to the presence of mold. The workers laid down cloths in all areas from the garage, where their tools, supplies & bathroom fixtures, etc were to the bathroom, ensuring no damage to any part of the house. The installer did an exceptionally professional job & was meticulous in preparing the room, equipment, fixtures, etc. Although we purchased some fixtures ourselves, the installer informed us why some were of inferior quality & suggested alternatives, which were often less expensive. We have two more bathrooms to be remodeled next year that we will no doubt be using marathon Bath Systems again. To summarize, Outstanding.Posted on Google![]()

We had our shower replaced through Marathon Bath Systems 3 days ago. They were wonderful! 1st, they were NOT high pressure playing the the game some other company plays like Jacuzzi Bath, Bath R Us and Premier Home Pros, gives a price as high like $19,038.00 then haggle between the sales rep, and their management to get the price down to $14k to $13k. And these companies will charge you extra for the shower head, or the seat or pull bar. Marathon has these items (not the seat package) included in their package of $7995! This a 💯 percent REAL PRICE! We got the seat package which came with the niche (not offered by the other companies) a long pull bar, two corner pull bars and the middle pull bar. Because Marathon's price was so much better we were able to afford the Glass door (we did not get the two corner pull bars/shelves because we have a small shower it looked to busy for us.) Marathon also had more options to choose from. They came on time. They did an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT JOB! They were so caring about every detail. We highly recommend Marathon bath systems! You not be disappointed!Posted on Google![]()

A typical conversion can include removal of the existing bathtub, inspection and preparation of the bathing area, shower-base installation, wall-system installation, fixture placement, sealing, and final checks. The exact scope depends on the existing bathroom and selected shower features.
In many bathrooms, yes. The existing bathtub footprint can often provide a practical starting point for the new shower. We first check the dimensions, drain location, plumbing, and surrounding surfaces to determine the best configuration.
Once the tub is out, our team can inspect areas that were previously hidden. The walls, plumbing connections, floor area, and drainage are checked before preparation for the new shower begins.
Yes. Depending on the layout, homeowners can consider low-entry shower bases, grab bars, seating, handheld showerheads, and other features designed to make bathing more convenient.
